Today was day 3 of my second trip through Steve Pavlina’s Deep Abundance Integration program. Today’s topic was “Tuning In To Signals” which fit well with what happened to me last night after listening to day 2.
When I was going through day 2 yesterday, I had an idea for an article I wanted to write. I made note of it with my phone and Siri so I wouldn’t forget and when I sat down to write it last night, it just rolled out of me.
Which was interesting in itself. I’ve considered myself a blogger/writer/web publisher for nearly 15 years now but it has always been a struggle to write. And the last 5 or 6 years, it’s been almost impossible. If I managed to get a few words out, it was incredibly difficult and I was rarely happy with the results. I was usually writing with the motive of generating revenue of some sort with my words, and that always coloured the way I wrote and what I wrote about.
Which fits in well with today’s session, but I’ll get to that in a minute.
Last night, I didn’t struggle at all. In fact, while I was in the middle of writing one article, I had another idea that I wanted to write about. I made a quick note and continued on with the one I was in the middle of, then moved on to the second one.
Two articles in one night is bonkers by what I would consider my “usual” standards. But listening to today’s DAI session connected a couple of dots for me about why it was so easy last night.
I was tuned in to the Universe’s signals. An idea came to me while I was listening to yesterday’s DAI session and instead of thinking “interesting idea, I’ll have to write about that” and then going on about my day, I made a note so I wouldn’t forget about it. And when another idea came to me while writing that one, I did the same thing.
If I’d left the ideas to bounce around my head, I can guarantee they would have disappeared or I would have struggled to get the words out. And sure enough, in today’s Tuning In To Signals session, Steve talked about that very thing. When you tune into the Universe’s signals, you need to take action on the ideas you get within 24 hours, he said. Otherwise the energy will be gone and it won’t work the same way.
I usually handle these ideas that way and that’s exactly what happens – by the time I get to that “idea” in my to-do list a week later, I can’t muster the energy or interest to bother with it any more.
This article is exactly the same. I had an idea while I was listening to today’s session, I made a note of it and now I’m writing about it. At least, I’m working up to what I really want to write about 🙂
That’s over 500 words so far, and they just flowed right out of me with absolutely no effort.
The other reason this discovery fit in so well with today’s session is because I’m not writing with the intention of generating income with these words. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t but either way, I’m fine with it. The money isn’t the point, it’s the idea that matters. And Steve talked about exactly that in today’s session as well – when you write with the intention of making money, you’re almost certainly not going to connect with people and will more than likely stay stuck in scarcity.
So with all that in mind, I’ll get to the point of what I really want to say today…
I think the idea of tuning in the the Universe’s signals is an important – probably critical – piece of the puzzle of making the Law of Attraction work for you. Rather than trying to attract what you think you want, you should be trying to attract what the Universe is telling you that you should want.
Now maybe you’re thinking, “Duh, of course that’s how it works.” It might just be me that’s always misunderstood the Law of Attraction, but everything I’ve read made me think that I just needed to want something bad enough and it would show up in my life.
At least, that’s what I thought it was trying to say. I’ve never honestly believed it works that way. Maybe that’s part of my problem too. But after a decade or more of struggling with scarcity and doing everything I could to try and manifest my way out of it, I think I might have finally stumbled on the real “Secret”.
Look beyond the world in front of you.
